Sondhi-led demonstrators rally outside Israeli Embassy in Bangkok

On September 10, 2026, a demonstration led by veteran activist Sondhi Limthongkul and the Campaign for People’s Transformation (CPT) took place outside the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok. The rally, under the slogan "Take Back Our Thailand," called for the government to address what the demonstrators saw as unlawful behavior by Israeli nationals and "grey capital" operating in the country.

The demonstration began at around 09:30, with leaders Sondhi, Panthep Puapongphan, Nitithorn Lamlue, and Pichit Chaimongkol submitting an open letter to the Israeli ambassador outlining four demands. The activists waved Thai flags and carried signs advocating for respect towards Thai people and the land they inhabit. Thai activist Psi Samut, an environmentalist and former heir of the Singha beer brand, was among those attending.

Sondhi read the open letter to the Israeli ambassador, emphasizing that concrete action was needed rather than formal responses. The four demands included Israel controlling its citizens, not protecting offenders, cooperating with Thai authorities in legal proceedings, ensuring transparency in investigations, and stopping actions against civilians.

Sondhi also criticized the government's handling of "grey capital" and criticized the government's handling of the situation, stating that the prime minister had been in power for eight to nine years despite claims that problems originated under previous administrations. The group plans to continue its campaign across Thailand, visiting Chanthaburi, Hat Yai, Phuket, Chon Buri, and Khon Kaen.
