Singapore tops Southeast Asia on Best Workplaces in Asia 2026 list

Singapore has secured the top spot among Southeast Asian countries on the 2026 Best Workplaces in Asia list, compiled by Great Place To Work. The ranking, which assesses 200 companies across Asia based on employee surveys, reflects the ongoing struggle employers face in retaining skilled workers in the region. Among the recognized Singapore-linked companies, 20 are part of the large-employer category with at least 500 staff in Asia, while five belong to the small and medium category with 50 to 499 employees.

This makes Singapore the fifth-largest contributor to the Asia list by company count, behind the UAE, India, Greater China, and Japan. The ranking highlights the growing importance of workplace culture as a competitive factor for companies in Southeast Asia. With skilled worker turnover rates projected to be as high as 20% in the Philippines and 19.3% in Singapore, companies are seeking to differentiate themselves through trust, fairness, flexibility, and the quality of day-to-day management.

Notably, two real estate companies, JustCo and Pontiac Land Group, made the list, marking a rare appearance for the sector in Southeast Asian workplace rankings. Singapore's diverse range of industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, IT, manufacturing, and hospitality, contributed to the success of 25 companies on the list.
