Samsung promised this Galaxy bestseller six Android upgrades, but it’s lagging after the first

Samsung had promised six Android upgrades for their Galaxy A07 4G and 5G models, but the first update to One UI 8.5 has left users disappointed. Both 4G and 5G versions have experienced lag and touchscreen freezing issues following the update. The 5G model has since received stability updates, but the latest release for the 4G model only included security enhancements.

Another quarterly update may arrive in October, though Samsung has not acknowledged the reported problems or promised a fix. The Galaxy A07 4G is currently the top-selling budget Android phone this year, and its software support was a significant selling point. Launched with Android 15, it was eligible for six major Android OS upgrades.

However, the generous update promise now appears to conflict with the support for software that might have worsened everyday use for some owners. Complaints have been shared across Reddit, Facebook, and Samsung's community forums, detailing persistent lag and touchscreen problems after installing One UI 8.5. These issues include general stuttering and touch input that freezes or takes an unusually long time to register.
