Revisited: Consequences of the 2022 Nord Stream pipeline sabotage are still being felt
It is one of the most spectacular acts of sabotage committed since World War II. On the night of September 26, 2022, three of the four pipes of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines exploded on the seabed of the Baltic Sea. 465 thousand metric tons of methane were released into the atmosphere. The long-standing and strategic link between Russia and Germany severed for good.
