Research underway to make anti-defection law more effective: Maharashtra Assembly speaker Rahul Narwekar

Central Regional Minister Ekow Panyin Okyere Eduamoah has commended the Gomoa Central District Assembly for effectively using their 20 percent Common Fund to complete long-standing projects in the region. President John Mahama, who was re-elected by the people in 2024, has prioritized completing projects started by the previous administration to provide essential services to the public.

The minister announced that funds for the first and second quarters of 2026 have been released to MMDAs to support development projects in areas such as health, education, roads, and water access.

At the 'accounting to the people' forum in Gomoa Ekroful, the minister praised the assembly for their responsible utilization of the Common Fund to finish health, education, and other projects. He cautioned the District Chief Executive and Coordinating Director to transfer any idle funds to the government's account to prevent delays in government programs.

Eduamoah highlighted the government's commitment to fulfilling its promises to the citizens and introduced the accounting to the people forum as a platform for citizens to voice their concerns and opinions.

The assembly leader, Mr. Hackman Kobena Aidoo, revealed that the assembly had allocated 10 percent of their 2025 Common Fund to construct and expand two health facilities in Gomoa Ekwamkrom and Gomoa Aseibu. Additionally, the assembly members unanimously approved the relocation of a 24-hour economy market to Gomoa Beseadze due to land constraints. The DCE also mentioned that the assembly has begun educational and health projects, providing dual desks to basic schools and digging boreholes to improve access to clean water.

Obrempon Nyanful Krampah XI, the Omanhene of the Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area, praised President Mahama's ongoing road infrastructure projects in the Gomoa West and Gomoa Central Districts. He urged the chiefs and people to support the government's efforts to enhance living standards through further infrastructure development.
