Qatar Investment Authority Invests in Positron AI's Series C Financing

Doha, Nevada - Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) has announced its involvement in Positron AI's USD 875 million Series C financing round, which has valued the AI inference hardware company at USD 5 billion. The financing initiative was spearheaded by NEA, Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Andra Capital, co-founders Jim Clark and Netscape, among other investors. QIA also participated in Positron's Series B funding in February 2026.

Positron AI specializes in creating hardware and software aimed at making AI inference, the process of running trained AI models, more efficient in terms of cost and energy consumption. With the growing demand for AI agents, assistants, and copilots, the infrastructure for AI inference is facing constraints in memory capacity, memory bandwidth, and power requirements.

The company's memory-first architecture is intended to tackle these challenges while reducing reliance on limited High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) and Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate (CoWoS) supply chains. This approach also enables deployment across both air-cooled and liquid-cooled data centers.

The new financing will be utilized to develop and commercialize Positron's next-generation technology. This includes the tapeout of Asimov, Positron's upcoming silicon, and the production ramp of Titan, their multi-terabyte-memory inference system. The investment by QIA underscores the company's ongoing commitment to supporting innovative entities advancing the next stage of AI adoption and long-term growth within the global technology infrastructure landscape.
