Public complaints redressal: KP CM reviews mechanism

PESHAWAR - Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi, convened a meeting to evaluate the Chief Minister’s Complaint Cell's performance from January to August 2026. During the eight-month period, the cell received 3,551 complaints through various channels. Of these, 499 were resolved at the Secretariat, 498 were deemed non-actionable, and the remaining 2,610 were forwarded to relevant provincial departments for action.

Of these referrals, 988 complaints yielded relief, 11 received partial relief, and 781 cases are still pending. The majority of complaints involved land disputes and education-related issues. The Chief Minister emphasized that the effectiveness of the government would be measured by the satisfaction of the public, not by the number of meetings or presentations.

He directed the public to learn about the relief provided by the Complaint Cell to maximize its benefits. The meeting also addressed the Peshawar Nursing College incident, vowing strict action against those involved and promising to protect the rights of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's students. A public awareness campaign would be launched to inform citizens about the grievance redressal mechanisms and improve coordination between departments.

Additionally, artificial intelligence would be employed to analyze complaint trends and drive necessary reforms.
