‘Pretty Daunting’: Cody Simpson Is Ready to Tackle the Australian Anthem at NFL Game In Melbourne

Australian singer Cody Simpson is set to perform the national anthem before the historic NFL game between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers at Melbourne Cricket Ground later this week. The 29-year-old, who recently spoke with The Hit Network’s Carrie & Tommy, admitted he was feeling nervous about his performance, describing the Melbourne Cricket Ground as "a pretty daunting place when it’s full."

Simpson, who has performed the anthem at various other major Australian sporting events, is excited to be a part of the first NFL game in Australia. He noted that while the novelty of American football in a country known for its other sports might be hard to gauge, there's a natural interest in American culture among Australians.

Simpson also expressed his admiration for the Jonas Brothers, who are performing the half-time show. As a pop artist, Simpson has won five Billboard 200 chart-topping albums and an international gold medal in swimming. The NFL Melbourne Game is set to kick off at 8:35 PM on Thursday, September 10.
