Pengendali helikopter gantung pesawat susulan nahas BO-105

CAAM CEO Norazman Mahmud stated that his company is voluntarily grounding the BO-105 helicopter and other aircraft equipped with Rolls-Royce 250 turbine engines near STOLport Long Lellang in Sarawak. The grounding is a precautionary safety measure taken by the pilots themselves, not an indication of an accident caused by engine or technical failure, according to Norazman.

Records show that the airworthiness certificate for the BO-105 helicopter remains valid until August 4, 2027, while its registration is valid until July 28, 2029.

Norazman emphasized that the age of the aircraft alone is not a determinant of flight safety, as long as the aircraft is properly maintained and meets the established aviation standards. The Malaysian Air Accidents Investigation Branch (MAIB) is leading a free investigation into the incident, following their participation in the Malaysia Aviation Safety Seminar 2026.

CAAM has offered full cooperation and provided all relevant documents to assist the investigation. Norazman urged all parties not to speculate about the cause of the incident, whether it be technical failure, weather conditions, or human error, emphasizing that final conclusions will only be issued by the MAIB.
