ODM leader Oburu in UK for routine medical checkup

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader, Oburu Oginga, is currently in the United Kingdom for a routine medical examination. In a statement, Oginga explained that the visit allows him to undergo a thorough health assessment and to rest, as recommended by his medical professionals and the party leadership. The ODM has framed this medical break as an opportunity for the party to evaluate its internal strength and operational efficiency without its leader present.

Oginga expressed confidence in the party’s self-sustaining capabilities, stating that during his time away, the party would be in capable hands. As he completes his personal health checkups, which are common for individuals as they age, Oginga views this as a strategic moment for the ODM, a period of transition and assessment of institutional preparedness.

Deputy Party Leaders Paul Simba Arati and Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir, along with the National Central Committee and the party secretariat, will oversee the party’s affairs in his absence.
