NST's Julianna wins second place in inaugural Wanita Umno media awards

At a recent Umno Youth delegates conference in Kuala Lumpur, Umno Youth secretary-general Hafiz Ariffin cautioned that victories in the upcoming general election are not assured simply because the party secured wins in the recent elections of Johor and Negri Sembilan. Hafiz emphasized that the party must remain vigilant to the ever-changing political landscape and public sentiment, even as it celebrates its recent successes.

"We won the battles, but we have not won the war yet," he stated when unveiling his report at the conference.

Hafiz urged the party's election machinery to start early preparations, gain a deeper understanding of voters, and address organizational weaknesses as it strives to gain public confidence. He advised the party to acknowledge its shortcomings and rectify them promptly, without making excuses. Hafiz detailed that the Umno Youth wing has already begun preparations for the next general election, including mobilizing the MyUmno system at the state level since January and strengthening election war rooms at the grassroots level.

Election preparation briefings had been held in Johor, Negri Sembilan, and Melaka, with plans underway for a retreat to unite members across all levels of the wing.

Regarding its electoral performance, Hafiz reported that the number of elected representatives from Umno Youth has increased from four to 11 over the past three years. He credited this growth to the growing trust placed in Umno Youth's young leaders, who are poised to serve the people. Hafiz stressed that the party's future path must strengthen Umno, unify the ummah, and benefit the people as a whole.
