Nigerian envoy presents credentials to Jamaican governor-general

Nigerian High Commissioner Jane Adams presented her letters of credence to Jamaica's Governor-General, Sir Patrick Allen, on Thursday. The ceremony took place at the High Commission of Nigeria in Kingston, Jamaica, and was reported by the High Commission of Nigeria. Adams conveyed greetings from President Bola Tinubu to the government and people of Jamaica, stating that the presentation marked a new chapter in Nigeria's relations with Jamaica.

Adams emphasized that today symbolizes another milestone in the relationship between Nigeria and Jamaica, which are connected by a rich history, shared heritage, and an unbreakable bond that transcends the geographical distance between the nations. She expressed her mission to strengthen the historic ties between the two countries and convert the deep cultural affinity into robust, mutually beneficial partnerships in various sectors such as trade, investment, health, culture, technology, tourism, and education.

Allen acknowledged the 56 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations, but noted that the figure does not fully capture the depth of the relationship. He appreciated Nigeria's contribution of specialist nurses and educators to Jamaica and wished the ambassador a successful tenure.
