Mula rundingan Umno-PAS sekarang jika mahu bekerjasama di Perak, kata perwakilan

Pemuda Umno Perak has called for immediate discussions on potential cooperation between Umno and PAS in Perak, rather than waiting until the Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN) is dissolved. Ibnu Rasyeed Mat Isa emphasized that the PRU15 results in Perak showed that seemingly difficult seats are not necessarily impossible to win, and that candidates can also lose seats considered safe.

He urged the party to approach the elections with a strategy, rather than nostalgia, when addressing the foundational speech of the Pemuda Umno 2026 congress. Rundingan (discussion) should begin now, not after the DUN is dissolved, and should focus on factors like electoral records, root strength, diversity, and winnable opportunities, instead of ego.

The Perak Umno youth proposed three categories of seats to consider: defending seats, deliberated seats, and strategically winnable seats through cooperation. Ibnu Rasyeed stressed that Umno should not demand an equal 50-50 seat distribution just because it looks appealing on paper. He drew attention to the PRN results, which showed the Barisan Nasional winning nine seats compared to 26 for the Perikatan Nasional and 24 for Pakatan Harapan.

He noted that no coalition can secure a majority to form a sole government, leading to both BN and PH together forming a state government.
