Man, 43, claims he got pushed off bicycle & punched by another man, 27, along bicycle path in Bedok

On September 8, a 43-year-old man, referred to as Kay, claimed he was pushed off his bicycle and repeatedly punched by a 27-year-old man along a bicycle path in Bedok North Street 2. The incident left Kay with a bruised left elbow, a cut on his right knee, and emotional distress. According to Kay, the altercation occurred around 8:50 PM as he was cycling and approached a man and a woman walking along the path.

He slowed down to avoid hitting them, but the 27-year-old became aggressive and pushed Kay, causing him to fall to the ground. The alleged aggressor appeared to be reaching for a shoe and shouted an obscene remark, according to Kay. As Kay attempted to rise, the 27-year-old allegedly punched him on the left cheek before pushing him again, causing another fall onto his left elbow.

Kay began recording the man after the second push to document the incident. The aggressor then approached Kay and punched him on the right side of his lower chin, causing him to lose balance and fall once more. The man also tried to take Kay's phone, which he managed to hold onto, preventing the assault. Kay claimed the alleged assailant threatened to hit him again after he got back up.

Kay walked towards a more crowded area, called the police, and several people from a nearby coffee shop remained bystanders. The 43-year-old was taken to Changi General Hospital for an X-ray, while the 27-year-old is currently assisting investigators with the ongoing police inquiry.
