Lahore to Undergo Beautification Process Ahead of Basant 2027

Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Bilal Yasin has mandated a comprehensive beautification and cultural plan for the forthcoming Basant Festival in Lahore. The Parks and Horticulture Authority will oversee the embellishment of major roads, entry points, and heritage sites with themed floats, lively lighting, and floral displays.

On Wednesday, Yasin convened a meeting with Ahmad Usman Javed, PHA Director General, to receive an in-depth briefing on the festival preparations. Yasin emphasized the aim to transform Basant into a major cultural spectacle for citizens, highlighting the use of flowers, kites, lights, and cultural displays to enhance the city’s aesthetics.

He outlined plans for traditional food stalls, live music, and artist performances, all designed to rejuvenate Lahore’s cultural vibrancy and provide residents with wholesome entertainment. The beautification initiative will be executed by the PHA across the city, with thematic floats and exhibitions positioned at various locations to celebrate Lahore's rich heritage.
