Kelana Jaya LRT Track Replacement Work To Begin On 13 September 2026

Rapid KL has announced that track replacement work on the Kelana Jaya LRT will commence on September 13, 2026. The project, aimed at enhancing rail services, will be executed in seven stages beginning this weekend and is projected to conclude by September of the following year. In a statement, the company outlined the timeline for these works.

Phase one of the project will encompass the Taman Melati and Gombak stations, with repairs taking place on September 13, 20, and 27. Phase two will focus on the Universiti, Kerinchi, and Abdullah Hukum stations, with maintenance activities scheduled for November 15, 22, and 29. The third phase will impact the Dato' Keramat, Jelatek, and Setiawangsa stations, with work occurring on January 10, 17, and 24, 2027.

The remaining phases are as follows: March 14, 21, and 28, 2027 – Universiti, Kerinchi, Abdullah Hukum; May 9, 16, and 23, 2027 – Masjid Jamek, Dang Wangi, Kampung Baru, KLCC, and Ampang Park; July 11, 18, and 25, 2027 – Taman Jaya, Universiti, Kerinchi, Abdullah Hukum; and September 12, 19, and 26, 2027 – Taman Melati and Gombak.

Rapid KL emphasized that these measures are taken to ensure the track infrastructure remains safe and dependable. The company noted that longer and curved segments may require more time, potentially extending into the following day. Consequently, affected stations will commence operations at 9:30 AM instead of the usual 6 AM on the designated days. Meanwhile, stations not involved in the works will proceed as usual.

During the process, ticketing machines at affected stations will be temporarily shut until 9:30 AM. Passengers will be able to purchase tickets at station counters. However, Rapid KL and Touch 'n Go product users can continue their journeys without interruption. Additionally, a free shuttle bus service connecting the affected stops will be provided.

Station staff, auxiliary police, and "Prasarana Troopers" volunteers will be on hand to assist with passenger movement. Signage and informational leaflets will also be available.

The company advises passengers to stay informed about the track replacement work schedule and alternative routes during this period.
