Jawatankuasa khas Felda serah laporan kepada PM hujung bulan

Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim will receive an interim report from the special Felda committee regarding improvements to be made to the institution by the end of the month. The committee, comprising senior government advisors, was established in June last year to review Felda's strategic plan for 2025-2030. The Prime Minister's office stated that the committee, which included several senior government advisors, held six meetings with relevant parties throughout the year to investigate various matters, including the listing of FGV Holdings Bhd and the shortcomings in governance of the asset or investment acquisition involving eight properties, which was presented in a white paper to the House of Representatives in April 2019.

The interim report, containing the committee's findings, will be presented to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for consideration. The committee is chaired by FVSB Executive Chairman Ahmad Fuad Ali and includes non-executive Bank Negara Malaysia board member Nungsari Ahmad Radhi, who is also a member of Anwar's core advisory committee.

The committee also includes Anwar's economic advisor, Nurhisham Hussein, a former chief strategy officer of the Employees Provident Fund (KWSP), as well as the ministry of Finance and Economy, Ernst & Young PLT Malaysia, and law firm Mohamad Hanafiah Zakaria. Last year, Anwar directed Felda to present a strategic plan and vision 2025-2030 to ensure the future of the exploration business remains secure.

The government has allocated nearly RM1 billion annually to Felda and transformation is required within the organization.
