I have zero Apple Watch 12 envy, and it’s thanks to the Pixel Watch 5
Google's and Apple's priorities are different
Apple has upgraded the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 models by doubling the RAM compared to their predecessors. Both new models now boast 4GB of RAM, whereas the Series 11 and Ultra 3 have 2GB. This increased memory capacity is made possible by Apple's latest S11 chip, which enables new Apple Intelligence features when these watches are paired with an iPhone 15 Pro or higher.
The enhanced RAM will facilitate features like Live Rewind text snippets and Siri Recap summaries, and provide a performance boost to Siri AI. Despite the ongoing RAM shortage causing prices to rise on Apple's other devices, the Series 12 and Ultra 4 maintain their starting prices of $399 and $799 respectively in the U.S., matching the Series 11 and Ultra 3.
