Harry blames King Charles’ letter as ‘tweeting general’ pulls Uganda from Invictus Games

Uganda has unexpectedly withdrawn from the Invictus Games, just two months after officially joining the tournament as the first East African participant. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the country's chief of defence forces, announced the decision on social media platform X. Kainerugaba justified the withdrawal by stating that it aims to avoid any perception of opposition to the British monarch, King Charles III.

He emphasized the deep reverence Uganda holds for the crown, noting that the nation will not participate in anything without His Majesty's approval. The military chief also cited internal military factions supporting what he called the "Harry-Meghan nonsense," leading him to cancel the country's participation immediately. Organizers and government representatives have reacted cautiously to the unexpected decision.

The Invictus Games stated that they had not received a formal notification regarding the withdrawal and were seeking clarification through local contacts. Despite the withdrawal, Birmingham is still set to host the tournament next year. This diplomatic twist coincides with heightened public interest in Prince Harry's relationship with the royal family, following his return to the UK.

Recent correspondence from the King's representatives confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan remain non-working members of the royal family.
