Hantar video lucah bekas isteri, lelaki didenda RM30,000

Mohd Suhaimi Yusof, a 50-year-old lorry driver, pleaded guilty at the Seremban Sessions Court to five charges of sending explicit images and videos of his ex-wife via WhatsApp in 2023. Judge Shahrul Rizal Majid sentenced him to a RM30,000 fine and two months imprisonment for each charge, if he failed to pay the fine. The defendant was accused of using WhatsApp unlawfully to send three photos and two video clips to a male individual with the intention of enticing him, according to Berita Harian.

All the acts were said to have taken place on March 22, 2023, at a premises in Mantin, Seremban. The defendant was accused of committing the offense under Section 233(1)(a) of the Communication and Multimedia Act 1998 (Act 588), which could be punished under Section 233(3) of the same act. If found guilty, Section 233(3) provided for a fine not exceeding RM50,000 or imprisonment for up to one year or both.

The accused did not have a lawyer and accepted the sentence, agreeing to pay the fine if convicted. Suhaimi, who now works as a lorry driver and has four children, three of whom are still in school, said he acted out of anger and frustration after the woman accused him of cheating. The prosecution was handled by Deputy Registrar/Prosecutor of the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (SKMM), Mohamad Farhan Kamarudin.
