Ghana Garden and Flower Show returns on Sept 11 with focus on green jobs, business and wellbeing

The 14th Ghana Garden and Flower Show (GGFS) is scheduled to commence on September 11, 2026, at the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra. Organized by Strategic Communications Africa Ltd. (Stratcomm Africa), the event will run for a week, concluding on September 21. The theme for this year’s show is “Green Means Business, Beauty and More,” emphasizing the economic, environmental, and social significance of green initiatives in Ghana.

The GGFS aims to showcase the diverse opportunities that gardens, flowers, landscaping, and green spaces can provide. Beyond aesthetic value, the show highlights how these elements can foster job creation, enhance livelihoods, improve overall wellbeing, bolster community development, and contribute to tourism and hospitality sectors.

The event will gather local and international exhibitors, industry players from horticulture and floriculture, entrepreneurs, real estate developers, policymakers, students, families, and the general public.

Visitors can expect a range of activities, including daily exhibitions on floriculture, horticulture, landscaping, eco-friendly products, garden ornaments, and other innovations. Key events include a Horticulture Roundtable focusing on the horticulture value chain’s opportunities and challenges, the Green to Riches Conference exploring green entrepreneurship, particularly for the youth, and masterclasses and demonstrations in gardening, horticulture, and landscaping.

Additionally, family-friendly activities such as a food court and evening events like the Stewards of the Earth Awards Night, Music Night, Drama Night, and Fashion in Bloom Show are planned.

Esther A. N. Cobbah, CEO of Stratcomm Africa and convener of the Ghana Garden and Flower Movement, emphasized the broader implications of the show. She stated that “green means much more than planting a tree” and highlighted the potential for green initiatives to generate economic opportunities, promote environmental sustainability, enhance beauty, boost wellness, and create healthier living and working environments.

Since its inception in 2013, the GGFS has served as a platform to encourage Ghanaians to appreciate, protect, and invest in the country’s green environment, with this year’s edition reinforcing the message that greening can lead to economic growth, sustainability, beauty, and wellbeing as Ghana continues its urbanization process.
