Education Ministry refers digitally manipulated fake CSSPS placement slips to Cyber Security Authority

The Ministry of Education has issued a warning to students, parents, and guardians regarding the circulation of counterfeit and digitally altered Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) placement slips on social media platforms. The ministry contended that certain individuals are manipulating these slips to mislead people into believing that students' initial school placements have been altered.

According to the ministry's statement, preliminary investigations have uncovered that some circulating placement slips do not align with the information recorded on the official CSSPS website. The ministry clarified that the barcodes and QR codes on the suspected fraudulent slips fail to match the placement details displayed on the documents.

Further investigation revealed that the available evidence strongly suggests that the implicated documents have been digitally manipulated or altered. The ministry described this development as a deliberate attempt to erode public trust in the CSSPS placement process and to engender confusion and anxiety among students, parents, and guardians.

Consequently, the ministry has forwarded the matter to the Cyber Security Authority and other pertinent security agencies for a comprehensive investigation and the implementation of suitable measures. The ministry advised the public to exercise vigilance and to refrain from disseminating unverified placement slips or allegations on social media. It also emphasized that students, parents, and guardians should solely rely on placement information obtained through the official CSSPS channels.

The ministry expressed its assurance to the public that the 2026 CSSPS placement exercise would be executed with utmost transparency, fairness, integrity, and accountability. It added that any legitimate concerns regarding placement would be thoroughly investigated through the appropriate channels.
