Casemiro lifts Inter Miami to draw in front of record Chicago crowd

Inter Miami secured a 1-1 draw against the Chicago Fire at Soldier Field Stadium on Wednesday, thanks to a goal from Casemiro. The Brazilian forward scored in the 48th minute with a header from a corner kick set up by Lionel Messi. A crowd of 63,094, a club record for the Fire, witnessed the match. Just one minute after the equalizer, Chicago's Noah Allen made a crucial save to prevent a goal by Berterame.

Dayne St Clair made two saves for Inter Miami in the match. Robert Lewandowski, who has scored in each of his last three MLS appearances, opened the scoring for Chicago in the 10th minute. The 38-year-old has now scored six goals in nine appearances. Andrew Gutman and Robin Lod provided assists for Lewandowski, while Chris Brady made six saves for the Fire, who have now won four straight matches and extended their unbeaten streak to seven.

Gutman changed direction to create space for Lewandowski's cross, which the Slovenian striker converted by lifting his right leg. Messi attempted to equalize with a shot outside the box in the 23rd minute, which Brady easily saved.
