Berks sports roundup for Sept. 9: Girls tennis, field hockey, golf results

On September 9, Berks County witnessed several notable results across various sports. In girls tennis, Wilson and Kutztown emerged victorious in their respective matches. Wilson defeated Exeter 7-0, with Maddison Vzar leading the way with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) score. Kutztown, on the other hand, triumphed over Brandywine Heights 6-1, with Kensi Burns, Alexa Litzenberger, and Sofia Figueroa securing singles victories.

In a close encounter, Gov. Mifflin edged out Muhlenberg 7-0, with Olivia Von Nieda and Brooke Slonaker among the singles winners. Conrad Weiser narrowly defeated Daniel Boone 5-2, with Juliet Perkins and Izzy Chafin recording singles wins. Twin Valley and Reading High battled it out 5-2, with Juliette Shank and Avery Hoffman standing out in singles play.

Field hockey also saw Brandywine Heights triumph over Pottstown 4-0, with Sam Clark and Ava Minnich scoring goals. Girls soccer also witnessed Brandywine Heights securing a narrow 5-1 victory over Oley Valley, with Jordan Henninger scoring two goals.
