Bayeux Tapestry 'mania' sweeps UK as first exhibition outside France opens
The British Museum on Thursday opened its doors for the first public display of the 1,000-year-old Bayeux Tapestry outside of France. The museum has so far sold a record-breaking 100,000 tickets to see the tapestry, which depicts the Norman conquest of England under William the Conqueror.
