Awutu Senya West DCE supports public schools with learning materials

The District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya West in the Central region, known as Kalala Nyamekye, has generously supplied exercise books, pens, and other essential learning materials to pupils at Awutu Ahentia and Aberful public schools. The aid aims to boost school enrollment and enhance teaching and learning conditions in rural areas of the district.

During a visit to the schools with officials from the Ghana Education Service (GES), Mr. Nyamekye marked "My First Day at School" by welcoming new entrants and inspiring them to take their education seriously.

Teachers at the schools expressed that a lack of adequate teaching and learning resources has been a significant obstacle for pupils, primarily due to their parents' financial struggles. Many students arrive at school without basic supplies like exercise books and pens, which hampers the learning process. Kalala Nyamekye expressed confidence in the government's dedication to resolving the issues faced by public schools in the district.

Upon learning about the donation, Thomas Owusu, the headmaster of Awutu Ahentia D/A Basic School, highlighted the immense relief the support has brought. He noted that a large number of pupils frequently attend school without the necessary learning materials, making the timely assistance crucial.
