2027: PDP’s Adebutu, Anosike Kick Off Gubernatorial Campaign in Ogun and Abia

In Ogun State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Oladipupo Adebutu, began his campaign on Monday. Despite the downpour, Adebutu's supporters flocked to the Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta, where he officially launched his campaign. The venue was filled to capacity with party supporters dressed in PDP attire, singing solidarity songs and waving banners.

The campaign, which marked the start of the PDP's statewide push for the 2027 general election, was marked by a traffic snarl as supporters and candidates paraded through the city. Adebutu, in his speech titled "A Call to Liberation," urged Ogun residents to vote out the All Progressives Congress (APC) and promised to deliver quality governance if elected.

His key areas of focus included resilient economy, corruption-free work environment, security, local government autonomy, regional and physical planning, transportation, rural and urban development, agricultural and economic development, women, youth, and sports, education, healthcare, and social services.

In Abia State, the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Kelechi Anosike, commenced his campaign on the same day by unveiling his manifesto to the people of Abia. Anosike's campaign was anchored on a 10-pillar Welfarist governance philosophy, with the central promise, "People First, Abia Always." Speaking from FLO FM Umuahia, where 12 radio stations connected simultaneously, Anosike vowed to prioritize the welfare of the people.

His 10-pillar programme includes agricultural welfare, economic welfare, healthcare, and education, among others. Anosike assured the people that his administration would focus on making healthcare services affordable and ensuring food security through the implementation of the "Operation Feed Abia (OFA)."
