Apple's latest iPhone launch in India has sparked online discussions, not just about the new models but also about the cost of its foldable device, the iPhone Duo. Priced at Rs 2,99,900 for the starting variant and Rs 4,49,900 for the top-end model, the phone's steep price tag quickly became the subject of memes and comparisons.

Social media user Prayag (@theprayagtiwari) took to X to outline what could be purchased for the same amount of money as the phone's price. He suggested that for just one iPhone Duo, one could buy a second-hand car, a motorcycle, around 20 grams of gold, cover a year's rent in many Indian cities, sponsor a sibling's wedding catering, purchase essential appliances like a fridge, AC, TV, washing machine, or sofa, or even take a family vacation.

He also proposed investing the money in a fixed deposit to "make your dad proud." Some social media users debated whether the high cost of the iPhone Duo is justified or irrelevant to those who can afford such luxury, emphasizing that the decision to spend that much on a smartphone would typically depend on an individual's financial situation and priorities.
