Youths honour ex-NBA chair, others for community devt

The Anambra State Town Unions Council (ASTUC) Youth Wing honoured Jideofor Okongwu, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association's Anaocha branch, and 11 other notable individuals from Anaocha Local Government Area on Sunday. The recipients were recognized for their significant contributions to the development of their communities, the LGA, and the state, as well as for their youth empowerment efforts.

The event took place at the Neni Civic Centre, following which Okongwu spoke about the importance of discipline, resilience, and hard work to achieve success and serve one's community. ASTUC Youth Wing President General, Ken Okoli, emphasized that the event celebrated the state's core values of faith, patriotism, self-reliance, discipline, truth, liberty, justice, community, dignity of labour, religious and ethnic tolerance, and love.

The honourees were chosen from the 10 communities that make up the Anaocha LGA, including Neni, Agulu, Aguluzuigbo, Akwaeze, Obeledu, Nri, Adazi-Enu, Adazi-Ani, Adazi-Nnukwu, and Ichida.
