UCL: Liverpool rally past Atletico as Sporting stun Galatasaray 3-1 in Lisbon

Two UEFA Champions League matches unfolded on Wednesday night, with Liverpool and Sporting CP delivering contrasting outcomes in their respective encounters. At Anfield, Liverpool mounted a remarkable comeback against Atletico Madrid, overcoming a first-half deficit to secure a 2-1 victory. Marcus Llorente opened the scoring for Atletico in the 17th minute, but Liverpool responded impressively.

Dominik Szoboszlai equalized for Liverpool in the 40th minute after Ronald Araújo's assist, effectively neutralizing the early advantage. The turning point came five minutes after halftime when Alexis Mac Allister scored a powerful left-footed goal from around 20 yards out, clinching a hard-fought victory for Liverpool in manager Andoni Iraola's first Champions League match.

Sporting then turned the game around after halftime, with Luis Suárez scoring a penalty from the Galatasaray defense in the 54th minute. The match concluded with Rodrigo Zalazar delivering a decisive free-kick, sealing a 3-1 win for Sporting CP and securing three points for the Portuguese side in their inaugural league-phase fixture.
