UAE weather forecast: Temperatures to hit 47°C before cooler conditions arrive

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) in the UAE has forecasted that temperatures will soar to 47°C in parts of the country on Wednesday before cooler conditions return by Sunday. Wednesday is expected to be fair to partly cloudy with light to moderate winds that may intensify at times. The country is experiencing weak surface pressure systems and an upper-air high-pressure system.

Temperatures in internal areas are expected to range between 43°C and 47°C, while coastal areas and islands will see highs of 39°C to 44°C. Mountainous regions will experience temperatures between 30°C and 36°C. Overnight, minimum temperatures could drop as low as 23°C in the mountains, with humidity levels reaching 85%. Winds are anticipated to blow at speeds between 10 to 25km/h, with occasional gusts up to 35km/h.

Seaside regions will continue to have slight sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. Fog and mist are also forecasted for Thursday, becoming more pronounced overnight and into Friday morning in some coastal areas, where mist may form. Humidity is projected to increase further on Friday night and Saturday morning, with the potential for fog or mist to develop over some coastal and internal zones.

Winds may reach up to 35km/h. On Saturday, there is a possibility of convective clouds forming in eastern areas during the afternoon, with winds strengthening to as high as 40km/h, and fog or mist re-emerging over some coastal and internal regions overnight and on Sunday morning. A change in weather conditions is expected on Sunday, with temperatures set to decrease as clouds gather over eastern areas.

Humidity may persist overnight and into Monday morning over some western regions, leading to another chance of fog or mist. Winds will again peak at 35km/h, and the Arabian Gulf could turn slight to moderate at times.
