Turnstile, Rosalía, KATSEYE Booked For SNL Season 52

Saturday Night Live (SNL) is set to premiere its 52nd season on September 26, and the show has announced its first four hosts and musical guests. A surprising addition to the lineup, New York Knicks point guard, NBA champion, and Finals MVP Jalen Brunson has been drafted to host the season premiere, alongside musical guests KATSEYE.

While sports personalities have often been a shaky prospect for live sketch comedy on SNL, Brunson's nickname "Captain Clutch" and "King of New York" lends credence to his suitability for the role. On October 3, two-time host Dakota Johnson returns for his third episode, though without most of the Please Don’t Destroy guys. The Materialists will team up with musical guests Turnstile.

On October 10, executive producer Lorne Michaels rehires Shane Gillis for the third time as host, despite his previous dismissal in 2019 for bigotry. Rosalia, back in Studio 8H for the second time, will be the musical guest. Lastly, breakout Obsession star Inde Navarrette, with Gracie Abrams as musical guest, will host on Halloween night, marking her first hosting stint for the show.

As the new season approaches, more updates are expected, as SNL is currently in the process of scouting new cast members to replace Chloe Fineman and writer Martin Herlihy, whose departures have already been announced.
