This warning contradicts Trump's public statements about the war, where he asserted that the conflict would end immediately following the November 2022 US midterm elections, claiming that Iran was attempting to influence the vote but would eventually be unable to sustain its opposition. While Trump acknowledged that diplomatic talks were still a possibility, he did not consider them a preferred course of action.
