Tok Mat: Those seeking Umno cooperation must accept its centrist approach

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has stated that those seeking cooperation with the party must embrace its centrist and moderate approach. He emphasized that Umno will not tolerate radical or conservative ideologies from its political partners. The party firmly believes in centrism, always remaining in the middle and following the middle path.

Mohamad said Umno will not favor the left or right, but will instead strive to balance ideas from across the political spectrum as a moderate national party. The party's centrist stance has been tested over decades through its role in governing the country, adhering to moderate policies, priorities, and approaches. Anyone who wants to cooperate with Umno must accept the party's moderation and centrist position; they cannot impose their conservative or radical ideologies on the party.

Mohamad further highlighted that Umno's approach to Malay politics remains inclusive, providing space and opportunities for all Malaysians. He expressed his commitment to managing Malay politics maturely, ensuring Malaysia remains a peaceful, prosperous, and prosperous country managed responsibly and in line with the Federal Constitution.

He also extended his pledge to non-Malay friends and non-Muslim Bumiputera friends in Sabah and Sarawak, promising a just and united Malaysia.
