Russian strikes on Kyiv Oblast kill two, injure seven including children

A video captured the moment a Russian drone targeted a high-rise building in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district on September 9, resulting in injuries to at least five individuals. On the same day, Russian forces launched ballistic and cruise missiles, followed by drone waves throughout the day. The attack struck a 24-story residential apartment complex, causing a structural fire on the 12th floor and damaging load-bearing walls.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and rescue 23 residents from the tower. Debris from the explosion landed in various locations, igniting fires across 16 sites in multiple districts, including Solomyanskyi, Darnytskyi, Holosiivskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, and Podilskyi. The drone directly hit the high-rise between the 11th and 12th floors, causing extensive damage.

Among those affected, at least six media workers were injured when the newsroom of television channel My-Ukrayina came under attack. General producer Yuriy Suhak confirmed that the strike was intentionally aimed at the newsroom, leading to the temporary suspension of the channel's broadcasting operations.
