RTD backs MACC action over fake vehicle ownership documents

PUTRAJAYA: The Road Transport Department (RTD) has shown full support for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) action against a suspected syndicate falsifying documents for vehicle ownership transfers. RTD director-general Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli stated that the department will fully cooperate with MACC and leave the matter to the commission.

The RTD aims to strengthen cooperation with MACC, especially in information sharing, preventing corruption, and enhancing integrity and governance within the department. Aedy emphasized that RTD will not tolerate any party exploiting or abusing their authority for personal gain. RTD remains committed to enforcing road safety and public interest professionally, dealing with integrity breaches firmly in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations.

Eleven individuals, including six civil servants, have been remanded to assist in the MACC's investigation into the alleged syndicate. The suspects, aged between 30 and 40, were brought before magistrate Norizan Riduan, who granted MACC's application to remand them from today until Monday to aid investigations under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
