Rapid KL to begin Kelana Jaya Line track replacement works on Sept 13

Kuala Lumpur, on September 9, saw Rapid KL commence a series of phased track replacement works on the Kelana Jaya Line. Commencing on Sunday, the maintenance activities will affect designated stations, altering their service times. Starting at 9.30am on these Sundays, rather than their regular 6am schedule, the modified service times aim to accommodate the track replacement process.

Spanning seven phases, the project is slated for completion by September 2027. Each phase targets specific weekends, commencing with Phase 1 on September 13, 20, and 27, 2026, impacting Taman Melati and Gombak stations. Subsequent phases, adhering to similar patterns, will take effect on various dates through July 2027.

As stations undergo these essential repairs, passengers can anticipate certain disruptions. Ticket machines will be temporarily out of service until 9.30am, but alternative ticket purchasing methods remain available. Moreover, service disruptions will be mitigated by free shuttle buses connecting affected stations, ensuring continuous travel options. Additional support from station staff, auxiliary police, and Prasarana Troopers will be on hand to assist passengers.
