Police uncover RM2.4b drug operation in Puncak Alam, seize 13.17 tonnes in biggest haul this year

Police have dismantled a substantial drug processing and distribution network in Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor, as part of Operation Eumenes conducted across Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The operation led to the arrest of four individuals, three from Malaysia and one foreign couple, aged between 29 and 43. The seized drugs, estimated to be worth RM2.4 billion, included cannabis, Erimin 5, ketamine, yaba, and methamphetamine, along with equipment believed to be used in drug processing.

Authorities found a container linked to the syndicate's method of importing materials from overseas, believed to originate from China. Operation Eumenes also uncovered a drug laboratory with a 13.17-tonne haul. The syndicate's alleged leader, previously shot in a raid in Seremban, is believed to have managed the premises, imported materials, and recruited members.

One suspect, a Taiwanese national, is suspected of acting as the chemist, entering Malaysia four times. Investigations are ongoing to determine if the syndicate operates within Taiwan and if there were any connections to an insider involved in a kidnapping incident in Selangor. The suspects were charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 on August 21 and 27.
