Phil King Joins Dunedin Venues Management as CEO

Phil King, previously the managing director of Ticketmaster Australia, has taken on the role of CEO at Dunedin Venues Management. King had been with Ticketmaster Australia since December 2023, having previously served as chief commercial officer at the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA). Dunedin Venues Management operates the Dunedin Centre, a historic venue consisting of the Municipal Chambers building and the Dunedin Town Hall, as well as the 36,000-capacity Forsyth Barr Stadium.

According to Dunedin Venues, King was drawn to the role due to the South Island city's reputation as a world-class destination for major events, its passionate sporting community, and its vibrant city atmosphere. In a LinkedIn post, King reflected on his time at Ticketmaster Australia, describing it as an "incredible chapter" and a source of immense professional growth.

He expressed excitement for the future, praising the work of the Ticketmaster Australia team under the leadership of CEO Cam Hoy and managing director Amy Mackie. Ticketmaster Australia operates offices across Australia and sells over 23 million tickets to more than 20,000 events annually, covering various genres such as concerts, theatre, musicals, and festivals.

Earlier this year, the Venue Management Association (Asia and Pacific) elected Megan O’Reilly as its new president, supplanting King, who had served on the VMA board for many years and held the presidency for the past three years.
