Personalized home-visiting support may reduce postnatal depression among young first-time mothers
The Early Partnership program combined sustained relationship-based support, practical assistance and coordinated multidisciplinary care from pregnancy until 12 months after childbirth. Compared with young mothers receiving standard publicly funded maternal and child health services, participants in the program reported improvements that were maintained at both six and 12 months after childbirth.
