Penyatuan Melayu boleh berlaku bila-bila masa, mesti berteraskan ‘Rumah Bangsa’ Umno

The Malaysian political landscape is ever-evolving, with the possibility of Malay political unity occurring at any given time, according to Deputy President Mohamad Hasan of Umno. This statement was made during the 2026 Umno General Assembly for Women, Youth, and Princesses held at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur. Umno remains open to cross-party and ideological cooperation, but any such collaboration must possess a clear goal and be anchored in the vision of the 'Rumah Bangsa' concept pioneered by Umno.

While Umno is not opposed to partnerships with other parties and ideologies, such collaborations must be based on genuine intentions and strategic political interests of Malay-Islam, rather than being short-term or cyclical. Additionally, any Malay political unity should not aim to exploit the strengths or weaknesses of Umno, he added. Any Malay political cooperation must be rooted in the spirit and aspirations of the 'Rumah Bangsa,' and the lack of clear objectives will not benefit Umno.

The Deputy President reiterated that Umno aims to play a leading role in such joint efforts, which must be guided by Umno. These collaborations should be centered around Umno as the foundation, axis, and core principle binding all towards Malay interests. Umno views itself as the party that gave birth to Malay nationalism and aims to remain a shelter for efforts to unite Malays.

Any form of Malay-Islam political cooperation must remain flexible and not necessarily translate into the formation of a new political alliance, according to him.
