Panic At Indore Collectorate As Man Douses Himself In Kerosene During Jansunwai

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man named Akash Jatav, from Jamniya Khurd village, created panic at the Collectorate office on Tuesday when he allegedly doused himself in kerosene. The incident occurred during the Jansunwai, a public meeting organized by the government. Jatav's actions left officials and visitors frightened, leading the police to intervene immediately.

Upon the officer's complaint, police registered a case against Jatav under the relevant section for threatening or obstructing a government employee. Witnesses rushed to help by pouring water over him to extinguish the kerosene. Officials stated that the situation had been linked to a dispute over the payment of Rs 11.21 lakh for a vehicle equipped with a DJ system.

Jatav had purchased the vehicle for Rs 11.21 lakh from another party on January 31, paying an initial sum of Rs 2 lakh. The remaining balance was to be settled within eight months, but Jatav failed to do so.

The other party had granted him an additional four months, but Jatav still could not fulfill the payment. Following the incident, Jatav approached officials to lodge his complaint, prompting a counseling session. The administration has also invited the other party to the Collector's office for further discussion. Both sides are expected to be heard before a final decision is made.
