No Man's Sky's 10th anniversary update will let you rule space stations, built floating orbital bases and go on holiday to the sun

No Man's Sky recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with an update called Cosmos. This major update allows players to explore stars, establish floating orbital bases, and even become the director of a space station.

In Cosmos, long-haul flights allow players to reach stars, the bright and deadly spheres of plasma that serve as suns in each system. Players are warned to reach the sun at their own risk, as it is ultimately lethal. However, the update also introduces two new methods to create homes in space. Players can now take over as the director of a space station, turning it into a clubhouse for themselves and their friends.

They can decorate the interior and exterior of the space station or even create a galactic alliance with a customisable name and banner.

For those who prefer solitude, the update also includes deep-space outposts, which are platform-based bases floating in inhabited systems. Players can find these bases manned by aliens with whom they can do business or even build their own for a more personal space to call home. To build a deep-space base, players need to deploy a deep-space base computer, with Hello Games insisting on providing plenty of variety for interstellar roleplaying.

Cosmos update also adds a new star system map and derelict ships to salvage, some of which are engulfed in biohazards. Sean Murray, the boss of Hello Games, emphasized the extensive work that went into this update, which he hopes players will experience on their other game, Light No Fire. The Cosmos update is now available for free for those who own No Man's Sky.
