Nimir Industrial Chemicals to Invest Rs. 3 Billion in 3 Major Projects

Nimir Industrial Chemicals Limited (NICL) has announced plans to invest Rs. 3 billion in three major projects, as approved by the company's board at a meeting on September 9, 2026. The investments will bolster the firm's presence in key industries and bolster Pakistan's chemical sector.

Firstly, NICL will develop a new Palmitic Acid plant, a significant addition to its product portfolio. Palmitic Acid is a vital ingredient in animal nutrition, particularly for milking cows, and Nimir plans to introduce additional products in this segment.

Secondly, the company will expand its Chlorinated Paraffin Wax (CPW) plant and the Chlorine Liquefaction plant. Demand for CPW has surged in Pakistan since the material was locally sourced, and this growth trajectory is anticipated to continue.

Lastly, NICL will relocate one of its oleochemicals plants from Sheikhupura to Hub, Balochistan. This strategic move is expected to enhance the firm's foothold in the southern region, cater to local demand, and boost export opportunities through sea routes. The company projects that the benefits from these capital expenditure projects will commence from the fiscal year 2028 onwards.
