Michigan football news: Booger McFarland sends stern warning to Bryce Underwood with QB1 status teetering

Michigan football quarterback Bryce Underwood received a stern warning from ESPN personality Booger McFarland regarding his status as QB1, following a poor performance against Western Michigan. Underwood dismissed the concerns but McFarland posted on X, formerly Twitter, stating that "this won't end well" unless he plays drastically better, as Whittingham is not tied to Bryce and is visibly frustrated.

Whittingham, who fired for breaking university rules, had previously named Carr as a potential backup if Underwood underperformed against the Sooners. Underwood completed just 12 of 22 passes against the Broncos, who were underdogs, and managed to score the only touchdown of the game. Despite his 170-yard passing performance, Underwood faced criticism from McFarland, who believes he is on high alert regarding his job security.

Michigan will now face the MAC conference appealing the win, but the NCAA has not overturned the outcome. Oklahoma, facing a tougher opponent, will undoubtedly put more pressure on Underwood compared to their previous opponent.
