Harshvardhan Nawathe, the first-ever KBC winner in 2000, used his Rs 1 crore winnings to pursue an MBA and later lead corporate social responsibility work. Rahat Taslim, who won the same amount in 2010, used her earnings to build a garment showroom after previously stitching clothes for a living. Sushil Kumar and Anil Kumar Sinha, who competed in season 5, had vastly different experiences.

Sushil Kumar's sudden wealth led to financial hardships, while Anil Kumar Sinha successfully used his winnings to open a coaching institute for KBC aspirants.

In 2012, Achin and Sarthak Narula became the first and only Maha Crorepati, winning Rs 7 crore to fund their mother's ovarian cancer treatment. They now run a chain of tea cafés. Himani Bundela, who won Rs 1 crore in 2021 despite losing much of her vision in a motorbike accident, used her winnings to establish an inclusive coaching center for differently-abled students.

Across the show's 25-year history, only a handful of contestants have won the top prize, with the Narula brothers remaining the only ones to take the full jackpot since it increased to Rs 7 crore. The winners' lives post-victory show different paths, with some using the money to establish stable careers and others addressing specific crises or causes.
