I Don’t Want to Interact With Stochastic Parrots

My stance on AI technology is clear: I do not wish to engage with it in any capacity. I am indifferent to the terminology used to describe it, whether it be AI, LLM, or chatbot. The mere presence of any output from these systems is unacceptable for me. My sole interest lies in communicating with real humans, not with stochastic algorithms that churn out generic content.

If a conversation begins with a prompt, I would appreciate receiving that prompt directly from the individual, rather than through an AI-generated response. I am interested in understanding the human's thoughts and ideas, not the product of a machine. Generated images, in particular, leave a bad impression on me. The flawed rendering of items, such as a kid with six fingers or a poorly illustrated kid's menu, conveys a sense of cheapness, poor taste, and lack of cultural appreciation.

I believe that if one cannot afford quality resources, it is better to omit the images altogether rather than using subpar generated ones. The same goes for blog posts and website illustrations – when generated pictures are employed, they convey an uncanny unease and lack of genuine human emotion or artistic expression. My time is valuable, and I do not want to be subjected to such discomfort.

Moreover, I have concerns regarding the quality and maintainability of code generated by AI. While it may seem convenient initially, such code is often poorly written, making it challenging for humans to understand and maintain. The reliance on AI-generated code could lead to the rapid deterioration of a project, rendering it nearly impossible for future developers to comprehend and improve.

I firmly believe that the investment of time in carefully reviewing code is crucial for the long-term success of any software project. As AI-generated code proliferates, it threatens to engulf projects in an insurmountable labyrinth of incomprehensible lines, ultimately leading to their downfall.
