Education Ministry reviews educational priorities for 2026-27

Doha, Qatar - On a recent meeting, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education discussed preparations, strategic priorities, and operational plans for the 2026-2027 academic year with more than 250 government school principals. Undersecretary of the ministry, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, led the discussion, outlining the ministry's roadmap prioritizing education quality and sustainable outcomes.

Dr. Al Nuaimi highlighted teacher empowerment and student performance improvement as the two central pillars of Qatar's education mission. He emphasized the need to create innovative school environments and continuously invest in professional development for teaching and administrative staff. Reducing administrative burdens for school leaders and teachers was also stressed, with a focus on enhancing classroom learning.

Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs, Ibrahim Abdullah Rashid Al Muhannadi, emphasized that the ministry's next steps would involve partnership, teamwork, and deeper engagement with educators. He described schools as the heart and compass of the educational process and spoke about efforts to reduce non-educational workloads on teachers while ensuring safe and engaging environments.

The meeting featured presentations from departments within the Educational Affairs Sector on their operational plans and academic initiatives. Officials also reviewed field readiness, including school facility, furniture, and supply preparations. The session concluded with an extended Q&A, allowing school principals to directly engage with ministry leaders and discuss various educational and operational issues.
