Dylan Harper Strongly Pushes Back on Rumors of Conflict With De'Aaron Fox

San Antonio Spurs guard Dylan Harper has vehemently denied rumors of a conflict with veteran point guard De Aaron Fox, despite reports suggesting friction between the two players. Harper, who had a standout rookie season, played a crucial role in the team's run to the NBA Finals. However, Fox, who averaged 36.6 minutes per game in the playoffs compared to Harper's 31, led the minutes played in the Finals, leading to speculation about tension between the two.

During an interview with NBA insider Brandon Scoop B Robinson, Harper dismissed these rumors outright. He stated, "What’s understood doesn’t need to be explained. Fox basically took me under his wing my whole first year and helped me and allowed me to grow in this space." Harper further emphasized their strong working relationship, saying, "Me and him never had a problem.

I’ve never seen a problem playing with two to three ball-handlers on the floor. Everyone last year said that it was not going to work... but I think we exceeded expectations a lot."

Harper made it clear that his primary focus is on the team's success and winning, and he sees Fox as an invaluable asset for the Spurs' future. He expressed, "We’re all super close. That’s kind of my uncle — he teaches me things that I don’t think anyone else in his position could teach me." With a full season of NBA experience under his belt, Harper anticipates a significant increase in his role with the Spurs in the 2026-27 season.
