Denny’s store closures: See a list of shuttered locations after a struggling franchisee ceased operations

Denny's, a popular diner chain, has announced the closure of five of its restaurants located in Minnesota and Wisconsin. The decision was made by the franchisee, M15 Inc., due to unsustainable debt and an inability to meet payroll or supply purchases. M15 Inc. has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, citing its inability to continue operations.

The restaurant chain expressed its sadness over the closure and stated that it is working urgently with its franchise network to explore ways to reopen as many of these locations as possible.

The five impacted Denny's locations are as follows:

1. 255 Century Ave N, Maplewood, MN 55119

2. 12950 Aldrich Ave S, Burnsville, MN 55337

3. 2045 Twin Lakes Pkwy, Roseville, MN 55113

4. 38681 Tanger Dr, North Branch, MN 55056

5. 1000 Gateway Blvd, Hudson, WI 54016

M15 Inc., the franchisee responsible for the closures, informed employees of the decision the day before, effectively September 3, 2022. The company expressed regret for the situation, thanking its employees for their hard work and warning that it could not guarantee sufficient funds to cover outstanding and final payroll obligations.

Those with unpaid wages could file a claim against M15 through the bankruptcy court. Despite the closure, Manny Trewn, the franchisee group's representative, expressed hope that these locations could reopen under new ownership and continue serving their communities as Denny's restaurants.
